In addition to the actual radiation protection rooms for synchrotrons, innospec also develops and manufactures individual components for radiation protection rooms such as electrical and media baffles as well as shields for beam transport, which allows x-rays to be guided from one protection room to another. For industrial product testing, innospec shielding rooms and material locks are customized; the samples or parts to be tested are transported in and out through the material locks in the protection room. Nearly 20 years ago, innospec developed an innovative process that decisively improved the radiation tightness of its equipment: T-shaped lead cover profiles, which safely seal the joint between two wall elements or the roof. This design is now mandatory for nearly all European synchrotrons.
